The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has extended the last date to apply for the IBPS PO Recruitment 2026 and IBPS SO Recruitment 2026. Following the IBPS application deadline extension, candidates who missed the earlier window can now register online at the official website, ibps.in, till July 26, 2026. The online registration for both recruitments had opened on July 1, 2026, and was originally scheduled to close on July 21.
IBPS Recruitment 2026: Vacancy Details
As per the notification, the recruitment drive will fill 7,460 posts in participating public sector banks — 6,715 vacancies for Probationary Officers and 745 vacancies for Specialist Officers. The PO recruitment is being conducted under CRP PO/MT-XVI for 11 participating public sector banks for the 2027–28 financial year, while Specialist Officers are being hired under CRP SPL-XVI for Scale-I roles such as IT Officer, Agricultural Field Officer, Law Officer, Rajbhasha Adhikari, HR/Personnel Officer and Marketing Officer.
Candidates should note that an updated Annexure-I released on July 20 has reportedly revised the vacancy count upward for both PO and SO posts — so applicants are advised to verify the latest post-wise break-up in the official corrigendum on ibps.in before submitting the form.
IBPS PO, SO 2026 Eligibility Criteria
For the Probationary Officer posts, applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university, or an equivalent qualification approved by the Central Government. The degree or final marksheet must be available at the time of registration, and graduation marks have to be entered in the application form. Candidates aged between 20 and 30 years are eligible, with category-wise age relaxation as per rules. For Specialist Officer posts, the educational qualification varies by post, so candidates must go through the detailed notification carefully before applying.
IBPS PO, SO Exam Date 2026
The IBPS PO Prelims 2026 is scheduled for August 22 and 23, with the Mains examination on October 4, 2026. The IBPS SO Prelims will be held on August 29, 2026, followed by the Mains on November 1, 2026. Selection will be done through Prelims, Mains and a Personality Test/Interview round, and IBPS will also open a short application correction window after registration closes.
IBPS Recruitment 2026: Application Fee
Candidates from the General and other applicable categories must pay Rs 850, while SC, ST and PwBD candidates need to pay Rs 175. The fee can be paid online via Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking or UPI.
